The Atlantic Regional Training Institute
The Regional Training Institute of the Atlantic States serves the states of North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington DC.
The training institute is a system of distance education that aims to develop capacity in growing numbers of people to contribute to the construction of a better world. Its central organizing principle is the development of capabilities needed for service to the community and society at large through the acquisition of spiritual insights and practical skills. Like any other institution involved in the process of education for development, the institute has formulated its approach within a special framework and philosophy of social change, development, and education. This framework, inspired by the teachings of the Bahai Faith, has at its core the belief that humanity is but one people and must all work shoulder to shoulder to contribute to the well-being of the whole.
Experience worldwide has shown that real transformation is possible when those sustaining such efforts at the grassroots strive to create an environment where growing numbers of friends, family members, neighbors, and acquaintances come to see themselves as active agents of their own development and protagonists of a constant effort to apply knowledge towards individual and collective progress. Our regional institute is collaborating with a broad cross-section of institutions, communities, and individuals towards the realization of this vision.
This will assist to directly combat and eventually eradicate the forces of corruption, of moral laxity, and of ingrained prejudice eating away at the vitals of society
